TRAVELING TO NOSARA, COSTA RICA
International Flights to Costa Rica’s Airports
The two international airports in Costa Rica are the Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO) in Alajuela, San Jose and Daniel Oduber Quiros International Airport (LIR) in Liberia, Guanacaste.
Costa Rica Transportation to Nosara: Domestic Flights or Scenic Drive
From within Costa Rica, there are different options to get to Nosara for every budget.
Please consult directly with transportation companies to confirm pricing and scheduling:
• Domestic flights
• Shared Shuttles
• Private Taxi or Shuttle
• Public Bus
• Rental Car
Domestic flights to Nosara must be booked directly through the domestic airline website (Sansa or Aerobell).
If you are adventurous, the scenic drive is well worth it!
However the mostly unpaved, bumpy dirt road conditions in Guanacaste require a 4WD vehicle, especially in the rainy season (May - November) when you may have to cross a few rivers to get here.

Get Involved: Become a Change Maker!
We require a 3-month minimum commitment from volunteers to ensure the sustainability of our program. We prioritize volunteers who are bilingual (English/Spanish), independent, self-motivated, and require minimal supervision. We cannot offer accommodations or other types of logistical support for volunteers, so you'll have to find a place to stay and cover your cost of living.
Volunteers are required to participate in an orientation, weekly check-ins, and exit meeting, at which time volunteers are expected to submit deliverables agreed upon in the orientation meeting. Participants receive training and guidance at the beginning of each project and intermittently, as needed. Activities are dependent on each participant’s interests, skill set, time constraints, and whether work is remote or in-person.

Getting Here: Costa Rica
Flights to LIR are usually more expensive in comparison to SJO, but you’ll get straight to Guanacaste and be much closer to Nosara. However, SJO is a great starting point if you are exploring more of Costa Rica outside of the Guanacaste area.

Domestic flights or bus/taxi transportation times and pricing from LIR/SJO to Nosara vary. Domestic flight times from LIR and SJO to Nosara are approximately 30 minutes. Bus/taxi transportation times and pricing from LIR and SJO to Nosara vary.
